Petey was our pick of the litter out of our stud, Ryker. We brought him home at just six weeks old and knew right away he was something special. From day one, Petey stood out—bold, confident, clean, quiet, and absolutely bird crazy. He’s got a big personality, loves people, and takes pride in every bit of his work.
Whether it’s running marks or blinds, Petey tackles each with equal drive and precision. He’s a true team player who also shines in the upland field, showing a strong natural quarter, an intense point, and impressive stamina. On top of all that, he’s handsome, intelligent, and full of heart—Petey truly checks every box.
His accomplishments speak volumes:
HRC Hunting Retriever Champion with 15 Finished passes
International Grand (Fall 2022 & Spring 2023) – both runs completed to the 4th series
AKC Master Hunter with 12 Master passes and qualification for the 2023 Master National
APLA Grand Master Pointing Retriever
After suffering a major injury in late 2023, Petey faced surgery and several setbacks. But his comeback story says everything about his grit and drive. Once back in training by summer 2024, he went on a flawless streak—3/3 in AKC Master, 4/4 in HRC Finished, and 3/3 in APLA Master.
Right after hunt test season, Petey headed to South Dakota where he helped guide wild pheasant hunts. Alongside our team of dogs and guides, he helped harvest over 3,000 wild birds.
Petey embodies everything a Labrador Retriever should be—versatile, hardworking, and loyal. But at the end of the day, titles aside, he’s simply my hunting buddy.
